At Escaped Travel, designing unforgettable tours to South America and Central America isn’t just what we do - it’s who we are.
If you have been researching the top tour destinations in South America, then the two amazing experiences shown below will already be on your radar. But which of the other highlights should you add? How can you combine them in one seamless trip? How many days will you need, and how much should such a trip cost?
You’ve come to the right place to get answers to those questions, and many others.

Immerse Yourself in True Living Culture
What we love most, and what we are proudest to show you on our tours in South America, is the continent's resilient living culture. In a rapidly modernising world, many of the countries we visit still honour the traditions, ancestral beliefs, and traditional dress of their ancestors, something that has been sadly lost in much of the world. This isn't a show put on for tourists; it is their daily life (most of the time!).
We say South America because the Andean nations of Peru, Bolivia and Ecuador are the countries where you can feel this most. But Central America also has some countries where ancient traditions are vehemently held on to, such as Guatemala for example.

Below are some of our favourite tour destinations in South and Central America, to get your travel antennae twitching:
Peru: Inca and pre-Inca history, vibrant traditions, some of the best food in the world and (of course) Machu Picchu.
Bolivia: Where indigenous traditions meet otherworldly landscapes like the Uyuni Salt Flats.
Ecuador: A rich tapestry of Amazonian culture, colonial history, and volcanic landscapes. And don't forget the Galápagos Islands.
Chile: From the driest place on earth, to the icy wastes of Patagonia. Highlights include Atacama, Easter Island and Torres del Paine.
Argentina: Tango in Buenos Aires, Patagonia, Iguazu Falls, and plenty of wilderness parks. Along with Chile, a wine lover's paradise.
Costa Rica: Famous for its massive biodiversity, volcanic landscapes, mist-shrouded cloud forests, and pristine coastlines.
Guatemala: A fantastic mix of Mayan ruins, natural beauty, living indigenous traditions, and well-preserved colonial history.
Brazil: This is an immense country. So don't get fixated on spectacular Rio de Janeiro and pristine beaches; there is so much to see!
