In a rapidly modernising world, many of the countries we visit still honour the traditions, ancestral beliefs, and traditional dress of their ancestors, something that has been sadly lost in much of the world. This isn't a show put on for tourists; it is their daily life (most of the time!).
We say South America because the Andean nations of Peru, Bolivia and Ecuador are the countries where you can feel this most. But Central America also has some countries where ancient traditions are vehemently held on to, such as Guatemala for example.
