Our combined Chile and Argentina tours explore the natural beauty of Northern Patagonia. From arrival in Bariloche through to Santiago de Chile, you will have stunning views of lakes, forests & mountains.

Day 1 – Arrival in Bariloche

After your arrival at Bariloche airport (most likely from Buenos Aires, but read below for Santiago option), we will meet and transfer you to your hotel which is situated on the shores of the Nahuel Huapi Lake in the quaint holiday and ski town of Bariloche.

We can also have you arrive via the lake crossing part of this tour, (read day 4) so you could make a complete circuit into and out of Santiago de Chile? This would be an epic tour indeed with lots of land journeys so you see lots of what this region has to offer! This tour can be done in either direction.

You are surrounded by some of the area´s most spectacular scenery. At the hotel, you will meet your guide and have a brief introductory meeting to explain your Argentina tour, before spending time at leisure in the beautiful surroundings of Bariloche (depending on your flight arrival time there may be the chance to offer an excursion).

Day 2 – Bariloche and Mount Tronador

Today you will take a spectacular chairlift ride to the top of the Mount Campanario where you will be able to view the magnificent region of northern Patagonia from a fantastic viewpoint. We will then make our way to the Pampa Linda Lodge, situated at the base of Mount Tronador, and stop off along the journey on the shores of the incredible Gutierrez and Mascardi Lakes.

You will enjoy a delicious lunch at the lodge before we take a horse ride to the black glacier ¨Ventisquero Negro¨, where exceptional views of the Tronador´s upper and lower glaciers await us. Overnight at the lodge.

Day 3 – Visit the Tronodor Area

Enjoy a hearty breakfast at the lodge before we head out to visit the area around the Castaño River. Here we will cross over the main access bridge and ascend through the forests of Cohihue trees as we make our way into the picturesque Morenkoff Ridge. Once there, we will hike to see the Tronador´s ice fields where the views of the Castaño Overa and Alerces Glaciers are truly spectacular, make sure you have plenty of space on your camera memory. We will then descend and head back to the lodge for a relaxing evening and dinner at your leisure.

Day 4 – Villa La Angostura

Today you will enjoy a full day of mountain biking and sightseeing. We will drive to a small village two hours from Bariloche, Villa La Angostura. The village is situated on the shores of the lovely, dramatic Nahuel Huapi Lake, which is also the largest lake in the region. After lunch in the village, we will board a boat with our bikes and cross the water to get to the Quetrihue Peninsula.

We will then cycle our way back through the breathtaking Arrayanes National Forest along dirt tracks among the dense trees. Overnight in your comfortable hotel which could be the beautiful Correntoso Hotel or similar, depending on your requirements.

Day 5 – San Martin de Los Andes

After a filling breakfast, you will prepare for today´s adventures centered on the Cordoba Pass. In the morning we will drive up to the top of the pass and then make our way down by bike through the fascinating rock formations as we head towards the isolated Caleufú River. If you get tired you can jump off the bike and into the support vehicle. After a delicious picnic by the river, we will cycle the remaining few kilometers on the Seven Lakes road to arrive at the picturesque town of San Martin de Los Andes. We will stay overnight either in the town itself or nearby, there are several hotel options to choose from such as the Rio Hermoso Hotel or the Plaza Mayor.

Day 6 – Lake Region Exploration

After breakfast, you will have time to enjoy a free morning before boarding a boat to Quila Quina. This quaint hamlet is situated on the banks of the Lacar Lake and belongs to the Mapuches, the native tribe in the area. We will then enjoy a gentle hike through the region and marvel at the magnificent sights of snowy peaks and tranquil lakes before settling into a cozy mountain cabin where we will sample some outstanding Argentinean wines.

Day 7 – Crossing the border into Chile

Today we will drive across the Andes and pass by the base of the Lanin Volcano which towers to an impressive 3,747m above sea level. We will stop for a picnic lunch in the large forest of Araucarias or ¨monkey puzzle trees¨ before making our way across the border into Chile. Once in Chile, we will take our bikes for a ride through an outstandingly beautiful region, surrounded by volcanoes, towards the town of Pucón where we will spend the night at the Malalhue Hotel or similar.

Day 8 – Rafting in Pucon

Today has an active theme of white water rafting as we head down the Bajo Trancura River close to the charming town of Pucon. After the morning´s activities, you will be able to spend the day at your leisure in the town or take another activity such as mountain biking. To recover in the evening it’s out for dinner in the town, and then a good night’s sleep at your hotel.

Day 9 – Temuco to Santiago

Enjoy your last breakfast before heading to the small regional Temuco airport to board your short flight to Santiago where you will catch your international flight home or maybe join one of our other tours.
